Almost three years after his appointment, the United States Postal Service continues to languish under Trump-holdover Postmaster General Louis DeJoy’s failing leadership. John, we need your help to take action and send a letter directly to President Biden to FINALLY fire Louis DeJoy.
Under DeJoy’s dangerous 10-year privatization plan for the USPS, mail prices have gone up and mail has slowed down. Now, DeJoy’s broader USPS privatization plan will inevitably raise prices even more, crushing consumers who rely on the mail to send packages to loved ones and small businesses who rely on the USPS for the core of their operations. It will also adversely impact rural and indigenous communities the most — the USPS is a lifeline for so many communities.
Only the USPS Board can fire DeJoy, and that’s exactly what they should do after his numerous failings, conflicts of interest, and destructive leadership.
As of December 8, 2022, President Joe Biden has the opportunity to nominate two replacements to the Postal Board of Governors. President Biden must make sure his nominations are up to the task of firing DeJoy and understand that the USPS has always been, and should remain, a cherished public service.
