G'day John,

Welcome to the June edition of Tam's Takes!

Can you believe we're already halfway through the year? The time
is just flying by.

It's also hard to believe it's been 4 weeks since I emailed you
about Labor's latest Budget. You all sent me some great emails
with your thoughts on whether the Budget will make a difference
to you. I feature some of your opinions online here:

Two of the main issues on your mind recently are the Voice
referendum and Stage 3 tax cuts. You asked what I thought and
here it is:

Will the Voice referendum succeed?

I don't know if it's gonna succeed. I think everybody needs to
take a good, hard look at it and look at the information and make
sure that they're comfortable with whatever decision they make.
I'll support it. I'm gonna vote yes. But I won't be telling other
people how to vote - I think people can make up their own mind.

What are your thoughts on the Stage 3 tax cuts?I don't support
the stage 3 tax cuts in their current form. What I think we
should do is tweak them, so that people from $45,000 - $120,000
still get a tax cut, but we’re not giving as much to the top end
of town. That way we’ll be saving a heap of money that we can
spend on other things.

Now that I've shared my thoughts, email me
at [email protected] to give me yours! And don't forget

IN THE NEWS

This week, I've been calling on the Greens to back in the Housing
Australia Future Fund when we head back to the Senate next week.
It's yes to 1200 homes, it's nothing. You can readwhat I had to
say here

.

I'm also calling on the Health Minister, Mark Butler, to go back
to the table on their 60-day prescription policy. It's going to
rip $3.5 billion out of the guts community pharmacies. It'll mean
reduced staff, reduced opening hours and cuts to services we've
come to rely on. Read more about how I think we can fix this
problem.
