What's On Header - Open-Air Theatre [ [link removed] ]




Head outdoors on a summer evening and experience live theatre in the stunning surroundings of Wollaton Park and Newstead Abbey. There’s something for all ages, including Shakespearean classics, performances for all the family from classic fairy tales to David Walliams’ Bad Dad, and even our very own Robin Hood.

Opening next week at Wollaton Park, the Open-Air Theatre season returns with a full programme of new and traditional performances:

*Thursday 15 June - Romeo & Juliet [ [link removed] ]*
With a history stretching back to William Shakespeare himself, The Lord Chamberlain's Men present this great play as he first saw it - in the open air, with an all-male cast and Elizabethan costumes.

*Friday 23 June - MacHamLear [ [link removed] ]*
Heartbreak Productions pits Macbeth, Hamlet and King Lear against each other in this farcical piece of new writing.

*Thursday 13 July - The Importance of Being Earnest [ [link removed] ]*
Chapterhouse Theatre Company is proud to present Oscar Wilde’s finest and best-loved romantic comedy, with a cast of unforgettably larger than life characters.

*Friday 4 August - The Secret Garden [ [link removed] ]*
Join young Mary Lennox on a journey of discovery as she is sent to her uncle’s house in the countryside, where mysteries and secrets lurk round every corner.

*Sunday 6 August - David Walliams' Bad Dad [ [link removed] ]*
Driven to desperate measures in order to provide for his son Frank, Gilbert agrees to become a get-away driver for the local baddies.

Featuring tales of camaraderie, good against evil, swashbuckling action and riotous comedy, Robin Hood is a fast-moving, fun-packed family show.

Nottingham Craft Beer Festival was born off the back of Nottingham Craft Beer Week, a pub-led movement which ran from 2013-2022, and in 2020 won awards from SIBA for being the best craft beer promotion in the UK.

Over 20 breweries have been confirmed for this year's festival, including *Black Iris*, *Castle Rock*, *Neon Rapter* and *Northern Monk*.

The Nottingham Motor Show will include hundreds of classic and vintage vehicles including cars, motorcycles and caravans, as well as the very latest models on the road today.

The show comprises vintage lorries, heritage buses, armoured military vehicles and classic fire engines, as well as a funfair and food and drink stalls.

New for 2023 will be an area for help and advice on owning, running and charging electric vehicles.

Entry is free but event car parking charges apply.
