While I am working hard in Congress to protect our values, I'm also determined to do what I can in our Commonwealth to ensure that we hold the State Senate — where Democrats have only a 2-seat majority — so we can block MAGA Republican bills from reaching Glenn Youngkin's desk.
That's why I'm reaching out today about my friend, Delegate Suhas Subramanyam, who has a primary coming up on June 20th — for the State Senate seat I used to represent!
I am proud to endorse Del. Subramanyam for State Senate District 32. I trust him to continue protecting our values in the Virginia General Assembly, and run a strong race to keep the State Senate blue. Suhas has delivered for Loudoun County as a Delegate on everything from gun violence prevention, to protecting reproductive rights, to addressing rising costs like tolls and utilities. He’s also been a tireless champion for funding our public schools, recruiting and retaining great teachers, and prioritizing academics over culture wars.
Suhas will never compromise on our shared values and has always fought back attacks on our rights and democracy from extremists.
There is much to do when it comes to the issues that are keeping us all up at night, and there is no candidate that I trust more to deliver on these issues than Suhas. In the State Senate, he will continue to fight to protect abortion access and push for further commonsense gun reforms. And most importantly, he has the temperament and track record of success to deliver results for Loudoun County, stand up to extremism, and ensure this seat stays blue.
