Village President Kauffman announces appointment for vacant trustee position
Village Board to vote on selection at June 13 meeting
Village of Oswego President Ryan Kauffman has chosen to appoint Thomas Collins to serve as trustee after the recent resignation of Trustee Luis Perez. The Village Board will vote on the appointment at its June 13 meeting.
?Tom has lived in Oswego for 17 years and has demonstrated his commitment to our community by serving as a trustee for the Grundy/Kendall Regional Board of Education and his homeowners association?s board, as well as volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America and American Legion Post 675,? Village President Ryan Kauffman said. ?Tom brings a love of Oswego to everything he does. His?professional experience and?project management skills?as?an?information technology?leader?will?bring a?fresh perspective to the Board.?
After Board approval, Collins will serve until the 2025 Consolidated Election at which time a candidate will be elected to serve the remaining two-year term of the vacant seat.
All Village of Oswego elected officials serve four-year terms on a staggered cycle, with a Consolidated Election held the first Tuesday in April of years ending with an odd number. The Village operates under the Trustee-Village form of government, in which an elected Village Board president and six trustees set policy and appoint a professional administrator to oversee the day-to day operations of government services and programs.
