Family separation. Immigrant detention. Asylum. When we talk about our work, it’s often in legal language. We’re lawyers who work, day in and day out, to win freedom for LGBTQ and HIV-positive immigrants.

Love is a word we don’t use as often. But it’s the foundation of all that we do. Love for the LGBTQ community, whose members we strive to keep safe. Love between families and couples waiting to be reunited.

As Valentine’s Day approaches, thousands of LGBTQ immigrants around the world are awaiting their day in court, hoping for a future with their own loved ones. We’re proud to champion their cases, but the number of urgent requests frequently outweighs our capacity. We need your help.
Can we count on you to give the gift of love to LGBTQ immigrants whose futures are in jeopardy this Valentine’s Day? We need to make $5,000 by this Friday to take on two cases at $2,500 each, and we can’t do it without you. ([link removed])

We are driven by our love for queer immigrants every day. People like Carla, a lesbian from St. Maarten, who urgently needed to immigrate to the U.S in 2015. The love of her life, Cecily, a U.S. naval officer, was about to be deployed overseas—meaning they could be separated for many months.

In order to reunite the couple before it was too late, we advocated vigorously to ensure the government allowed Carla to immigrate—and we were successful! But we couldn’t have done it without our supporters. Please stand up for love this Valentine’s Day with a gift. Any amount—big or small—will move us closer to our goal of raising $5,000 this week:

It’s a privilege to have your partnership as we work to make the future better—not just for immigrants—but for our entire country.

Thank you for all that you do,
