Breaking news, folks: The Supreme Court just ruled that Alabama’s new congressional districts discriminate against Black voters and violate the Voting Rights Act.
Our grantees in Alabama have been organizing and activating on the ground since this case made its way to the Supreme Court last year, and now, thanks to their tireless efforts, new congressional districts will be redrawn to fairly represent Black Alabamians.
This isn’t just a major win in Alabama, this ruling is a major win for our entire country and the future of our democracy.
But let me be clear, folks: The organizing and advocacy throughout Alabama that led to this historic moment wouldn’t have been possible without grassroots support.
That’s why I’m hoping you’ll celebrate with me by pitching in to Groundwork Project today. Your contribution will help support local activists like the ones in Alabama who are leading the charge in these critical fights for fairness, justice, and equity.
