John, As a mom, I know that our youth are our future. We must be doing everything we can to support the next generation of Americans – and too often we fall short. That's why I've introduced the Youth Workforce Readiness Act. This bipartisan bill would establish a grant for afterschool programs that prepare students for success. With this funding, students will have access to leadership training, summer employment assistance, mentorship opportunities, and occupational skills training. I’m grateful to my colleagues in Congress who have joined me in this bipartisan effort. I’m glad to have their backing on this bill as we push it through the House. As a mother, advocating for children and their families has always been a top priority. I’m thrilled to continue my work championing education, an issue close to my heart. We must make sure that our children have the resources they need to be adequately prepared for the future.
