WELLINGTON MAYOR ANNE GERWIG FILES TO RUN FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE, DISTRICT 93
|
|
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: Anne Gerwig
561-602-1630
June 7, 2023
Wellington Mayor, successful small business owner, education advocate, and longtime Palm Beach County resident, Anne Gerwig, has filed to run for State Representative, District 93.
Wellington Mayor Anne Gerwig is running as a Republican candidate for State Representative, District 93. Gerwig is challenging incumbent Democratic State Representative Katherine Waldron.
Anne Gerwig is a 54-year resident of Palm Beach County and a 33-year resident of Wellington and District 93.
Gerwig is currently serving her second 4-year term as Mayor of Wellington. She was the first Mayor in Wellington history to be re-elected without opposition. Her term ends in March 2024. Gerwig also served for six years as a Wellington Village Council member prior to being elected as Mayor (14 years total in March).
Gerwig is the current Director of Client Communications for Alan Gerwig & Associates, Inc., a successful Wellington-based engineering firm.
Gerwig has served on numerous state, county, and village boards and committees, including as an Executive Board Member of the Florida League of Cities, as past President of the Palm Beach County League of Cities, on the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council, the Housing Leadership Council of Palm Beach County, the Palm Beach County Transportation Planning Agency, the Homeless Advisory Board, and a member of the Wellington Chamber and the Central Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce, to name a few.
Gerwig has also been a strong advocate for education. She previously served on the Wellington Landings Middle School School Advisory Council and the Binks Forest Elementary School PTA, School Advisory Council and Executive Board. Gerwig was also instrumental in the naming of the Keely Spinelli Education Grant, which provides financial funding to all of Wellington’s schools to supplement their education initiatives.
In 2021, Gerwig was honored to receive the prestigious Global Statesman Award for advocating for strengthening American global leadership to support our communities here at home.
“I am running for State Representative to bring my many years of experience and knowledge representing Wellington and District 93 to Tallahassee. No other candidate has the experience I have representing our district. Some of the issues I want to focus on in Tallahassee include, reducing the cost of homeowner insurance, protecting home rule, advancing local transportation initiatives – to cut down on traffic and congestion, and continuing to be an advocate for education,” said Gerwig.
Gerwig has been married to her husband Alan for 33 years. They have three adult children and three grandchildren.
Paid by Anne Gerwig, Republican for State Representative, District 93.

|
Dear Members and Friends,
Just a reminder of our next meeting of the Judeo/Christian Republican Club to take place on June 21st at 6PM at the South County Civic Center on Jog Road, just South of Linton Blvd, in Delray Beach. The speaker will be the new Chair of the Palm Beach County Republican Party, whose election is June 14th. The winner, the new Chair, will be our speaker on “How We Can Keep Palm Beach County in the Republican Corner,” issues regarding the national scene, potential party presidential candidates, and how to handle rifts in the party. There will be an extensive Q&A with the speaker and all are welcome to chime in.
We'll send out a notice giving updated news on the new chair after his/her election.
Your attendance is more than welcome in order to prepare us for the upcoming election season and to keep our Republican County Party in the winning corner. A $5 donation at the door keeps us in business. Our coffers need refilling after Covid.

Mike is the current representative for District 87, a coastal district running from Juno Beach south to Manalapan and including parts of Palm Beach Gardens, North Palm Beach, Lake Park and Jupiter. Prior to the redistricting in 2022, Mike served two terms in district 89 which includes parts of Boca Raton and Delray Beach.
Mike Caruso learned from a young age that in order to succeed, he needed to roll up his sleeves and work hard until the job was done. As a child, Mike sold flowers and mowed lawns to earn money. He kept his entrepreneurial spirit alive and worked his way through college at George Washington University, where he earned a degree in Business Administration, specializing in accounting.
After years of experience as a CPA in accounting firms such as KPMG and Grant Thornton International, Mike opened his own CPA firm, Caruso & Caruso, in Palm Beach County. Over the next three decades, Mike has used his skills to benefit the community, serving on many community organization boards, and serving as an expert witness in many local and national court cases as a forensic accountant.
Mike is a proud father of 7, a champion barefoot water-skier, a tennis enthusiast, and enjoys spending time at the beach, with his wife and two dogs.
Mike is deeply entrenched in the community both personally and professionally. In addition to his professional work as a CPA, he owns several residential and commercial properties throughout the county and is the CFO of Delray Beach Executive Suites. He wants to work with the community to make real change. He understands that lasting change can only come from increased communication and a willingness to get things done. If we work together, we can see real change in Palm Beach County.
