Happy World Oceans Day, John!
Today, we rally all around the world to strengthen and support the health of our oceans and pave the way for a healthy and sustainable climate future.
However, our SEEC Members know that we can’t just reserve one day of the year to act — we have to push for widespread awareness and change year-round to reverse the alarming trends that are threatening our seas.
That’s why Co-Chair of the House Oceans Caucus and member of the SEEC Nature and Oceans Task Force, Representative Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR), introduced a resolution to both honor World Oceans Day and recommit to investing federal dollars in ocean research and monitoring.
Join our fight by signing on to protect our seas today.

The SEEC Nature and Oceans Task Force is fighting to enhance conservation and scale up ocean observation efforts so we can pinpoint exactly why and how our oceans are changing.
From supporting research into environmental trends like ocean acidification, harmful algal blooms, and marine heatwaves, we can better understand how to combat these threats and take proactive steps to protecting our oceans for future generations.
We’re proud the World Oceans Day resolution is not only backed by our SEEC Nature and Oceans Task Force, led by Co-Chairs Reps. Doris Matsui (CA-07) and Joe Neguse (CO-02), but is also gaining support that extends far beyond the walls of Congress.
John, in honor of World Oceans Day, our team is working to collect as many names in support of this resolution as possible so Congress knows just how urgent an issue this is for Americans. Will you add your name so we can continue pushing this fight forward in D.C.?
