El Paso Mayor, Dreamers, Business, Law Enforcement, and Faith Leaders Call for Workforce & Border Security Solutions - El Paso Mayor Ivy Avalos, Dreamers, Business, Civic, Faith, and Law Enforcement leaders recently joined a discussion on workforce and border security solutions in Socorro, TX. They highlighted the economic contributions of immigrants in Texas and called on lawmakers to pass bipartisan legislation to improve border security and to modernize the US immigration system in ways that will improve the US workforce and help to alleviate current historic inflationary workforce shortages. Discussions highlighted the needs for a legislative solution for DACA and Dreamers and a method for unauthorized immigrants to earn work permits. Speakers also urged lawmakers to pass the recently introduced bipartisan Dignity Act that includes comprehensive border and immigration solutions.

Pfluger on Passage of Fiscal Responsibility Act - "While not perfect, the Fiscal Responsibility Act is the biggest spending reduction bill in history. It includes $2 trillion in cuts, claws back tens of billions in unspent COVID-19 funds, protects our seniors, veterans, and the military, gets people back to work and off welfare, defunds the additional IRS agents President Biden intended to unleash on the American people, restarts student loan repayments, and cuts red tape to streamline energy & infrastructure projects," said Representative August Pfluger about the Fiscal Responsibility Act.

Sens. Cruz, Rick Scott, Rubio Recognize Rough Riders During 125th Anniversary Of Spanish-American War - As the United States marks the 125th anniversary of the Spanish-American War in 2023, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), joined by Sens. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) and Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), announced a resolution designating June 2 as National Rough Riders Day. The First United States Volunteer Cavalry, nicknamed the Rough Riders, was a regiment that fought valiantly to defend and protect the interests of the United States during the Spanish-American War.
