Dear friend,

Republicans have made no secret of the fact that they oppose student debt forgiveness — or any investment in working people, for that matter. Despite championing tax breaks for the ultra wealthy, and anything that keeps money in the hands of the rich, they're quick to block anything that could make a difference for everyday New Yorkers. They're fighting for anyone but you.

Last month, they even went so far as to pass a radical bill not only overturning President Biden's student debt forgiveness plan and restarting payments but also requiring borrowers to backpay three years of interest. That's about as big a slap in the face as I could imagine, but it's exactly in character for this extremist Republican Congress.

Although this absurd plan won't ever be signed into law, it's a crystal clear message that Republicans aren't fighting for our communities — so we need to vote them out. [[link removed]]

Our student debt plan is life-changing for millions of borrowers, especially in communities of color and among first generation college students, and it's an important step towards closing the racial wealth gap.

I think it's worth fighting for. Do you? [[link removed]]

Thanks, Nydia DONATE [[link removed]]
