The unprecedented Canadian wildfires, which are sending smoke hundreds of miles away, are a direct effect of the Climate Crisis driving drought and record-high temperatures.

As it continues to make these exceptional conditions all the more normal, ever more unprecedented wildfires will rage out of control, unleash untold destruction, and poison our air.

They will start to ravage places previously untouched by these disasters and grow even more catastrophic where they are already common. California’s 2020 wildfires will be repeated writ large.
