I'll be direct.

I’m reaching out to ask you to make a contribution to my re-election campaign. Voters in my district are already voting ahead of the March primary, so I hope you’ll give me a moment to explain why this request is so urgent.

This past weekend, my presumptive GOP opponent began a barrage of attack mailers to voters in our community. The mailers are completely misleading and predictably feed into the far-right hysteria about “radical socialism.”

Unhinged attacks like these are nothing new for us. But it's important to remember that our opponent is a self-funder who will spend hundreds of thousands of his own dollars trying to distort my record to buy this seat. We need to be ready for anything.

Our final FEC filing deadline before the March 3 primary is on Wednesday. Can you chip in $3 to help us send a message that we have the breadth of support to defeat these attacks? I wouldn’t ask today if this wasn’t important.

I ran for Congress because our community was eager for a representative to finally do substantive and tangible work to protect our environment and coastlines, support our veteran population, and to stop Trump’s attacks on our health care.
