Yesterday, President Donald Trump unveiled his budget proposal for 2021. Among cuts to life-saving programs like SNAP, the president’s newest budget slashes deep into our country’s Medicaid program.

I want to be clear: I will stand up to anyone, at any time, who attacks our access to the basic human right that is health care. People die when our politicians don’t take this seriously enough, and I refuse to watch while Pete Stauber and President Trump ignore the people of Minnesota’s Eighth District.

I’ve been a health care advocate most of my life because no one else was advocating for me. I know personally the struggle of coming up with $1000 a month to pay for life-saving medication.

And I am personally committed to taking this fight to Washington for as long as it takes.

Today, in spite of our president’s attacks on health care, and in spite of our own congressman who ignores the breaking point in this crisis, we are going to continue to fight.
