Hi, it’s Tennessee State Rep. Gloria Johnson. You may remember me as one of the members of the Tennessee Three and the only one who Republicans failed to expel.

Throughout my time in the state House, I’ve made it my mission to speak the truth. To stand up for what I believe in and stand against hateful, backward legislation.

Republicans’ far-right extremism is a danger to our democracy, our communities, and our children. They’re targeting the LGBTQ+ community under the guise of “protecting children” as they cater to the gun lobby and ignore the devastating consequences of gun violence and the harmful effects of their hate-fueled agenda. It’s despicable.

My constituents elected me to represent them in Nashville, and I take that responsibility seriously. That’s why even after my Republican colleagues attempted to expel me for speaking out against gun violence, I refused to back down.

The people of Tennessee deserve better than anti-democratic schemes and cowardly indifference – and I’m ready to continue fighting for them.
