I almost can’t believe what just happened…

After last week’s chaos with the debt ceiling, this week was supposed to be a semi-normal one on the House Floor. Boy was I wrong…

It all started on Monday evening when we got rumblings that something was wrong with the extreme right Freedom Caucus. They were behind the scenes fighting with Kevin McCarthy because they were livid he cut a debt ceiling deal with President Biden. And then… all hell broke loose.

11 extreme Republican members decided to revolt on the Floor and block any legislation from being passed.

Since then, Congress has voted on zero bills. We went a whole week without being able to work. All because the MAGA Republicans got their feelings hurt.

Look, this is a perfect example of what I’ve been talking about - Republican extremists are a genuine threat to our democracy. It only takes a few of them to force Congress to a complete standstill. We cannot let these extremists continue to have power over our government. Democrats have to win back the House if we have any hope of a functioning democracy.

I hope you’ll consider chipping in to help us take back the House. This is absurd behavior and we have to take the gavel back.
