We cannot wait a moment longer.

I won’t soon forget -- at the end of 2012, a gunman shot and killed 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

It was a horrifying tragedy that shook us to our core as a country.

And yet, since Sandy Hook, there have been over 2,000 mass shootings. Since 2013, there have been seven mass shooting in our district alone.

Last week was National Gun Violence Survivors week. We cannot honor survivors of gun violence or the memories of the victims with just thoughts and prayers. We need to honor them with action.

Join me and tell Mitch McConnell to take immediate action to end gun violence. >>

The Democratic House Majority advanced a measure that would require universal background checks for all gun sales, helping prevent future violence. It’s a common sense step with bipartisan support.

But now, it’s been nearly a YEAR since we passed our plan in the House. McConnell still hasn’t taken up our bill in the Senate.

This is a life-or-death issue and we cannot wait any longer. Add your name to mine and demand McConnell take action to prevent future gun violence.
