Dear John,
We all know what a disaster it would be for Donald Trump or any of the other GOP candidates to win the White House in 2024.
But there’s one issue above all others that could cost Biden reelection: inflation.
Despite record job creation under President Biden, just one in three Americans approve of his handling of the economy. That’s why polls show Trump and the other Republicans neck and neck with Biden in key battleground states.
However, as you and I both know, Republican policies would only make inflation even worse by increasing the monopolistic power of big corporations. But voters aren’t hearing any of that from the mainstream media, so it’s up to us to get out the facts — and with this critical election just 17 months away, we can’t afford to wait.
No one is better than the team here at Inequality Media Civic Action at crafting the kind of viral video explainers and shareable graphics that break through the noise, and we know from scientific A/B message testing that our videos are effective at changing the minds of independents and swing voters.
Will you make a donation to Inequality Media Civic Action and help spread the truth about inflation across our social media platforms?
Republicans have spent the last two years hammering the message that President Biden and so-called “big government” are to blame for inflation.
Nonsense.
The truth is that corporations are raking in the highest profits in 70 years by using inflation as an excuse to gouge consumers.
Of course, if corporations faced meaningful competition, they would keep prices low for fear of losing customers to lower-priced competitors. But Republicans are dead set against the policies that would check the monopolistic pricing power of giant corporations, like stronger antitrust enforcement and a windfall profit tax.
These are the facts the American people need to know as they decide which candidates to support in the 2024 election. And they’re not getting these facts from the corporate media.
That’s where we come in. The team at Inequality Media Civic Action has spent years developing the most effective strategies for directly reaching audiences via social media without relying on the corporate media filter or spending tens of millions on ads.
We can’t wait until next year to start educating voters. By then it could be too late. We need to start right now — and that’s why we’re asking you to make a donation to help ramp up our messaging operation right now.
Please make a donation to Inequality Media Civic Action and help us fill the absolutely critical messaging gap on inflation and keep Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, and the other Republicans out of the White House.
Thanks for joining with us in the fight for truth,
Robert Reich
