John,

Last month, Reps. Maria Elvira Salazar (R-Florida) and Veronica Escobar
(D-Texas) announced an immigration reform bill - **the Dignity Act
(H.R. 3599)**
<[link removed]> -
that would strengthen border security, reform our asylum system, offer
solutions for Dreamers, create a path forward for immigrants who lack
authorization and update employment-based immigration, among other
provisions.

It's encouraging to see Republicans and Democrats working together on
immigration reforms, especially given recent partisanship. That's why
today we're urging our supporters to push Congress to support this
bill.

**Urge your member of Congress to co-sponsor the Dignity Act to update
our immigration system.** <[link removed]>

This bipartisan effort resembles the kind of compromise to improve our
immigration system that Americans want. In **recent polling**
<[link removed]>,
more than 80% of Americans across the political spectrum agreed that "it
is important that Republicans and Democrats work together to pass
immigration reforms that address labor shortages and inflation and
protect people already here and contributing."

Americans don't need false narratives or fearmongering; they want
permanent solutions - and this piece of legislation is one possible
solution.

**Ask your member of Congress to co-sponsor this bipartisan bill!**
<[link removed]>

While there is room for improvement in the bill, we must seize on this
rare bipartisan opportunity to advance permanent solutions that promote
border management that is secure, orderly and humane, while ensuring our
legal immigration system can meet our workforce needs.

The ever-growing challenges of global migration combined with outdated
and ineffective border management policies have only exacerbated the
difficulties in creating a more orderly and secure border. These
challenges will not be fully addressed without significant legislative
action that also updates other aspects of our immigration system.

We need both security and compassion - and that isn't something
temporary fixes to border policy can provide. We need permanent
solutions.

**It's never been more urgent to update our immigration system. Act now
and ask your member of Congress to co-sponsor the Dignity Act!**

Thanks for your support,

Jennie Murray
