Dear Friend,

Summer is nearly here, and at the Claremont Institute that means the start of Fellowship season. In just a few weeks, our 2023 Publius class will convene in sunny California to study the distinctive moral and political principles of the American constitutional order. We can’t wait to meet the new Fellows!

Along with these good tidings—and, hopefully, good weather—we hope you’ll enjoy these updates on what’s happening at the Claremont Institute.

A new Claremont Review of Books is on the way. Enjoy our own Christopher Caldwell on France, Scott Yenor on the first ladies of country music, Carl R. Trueman on woke pathologies—and more!

Speaking of books, our Senior Fellow Daniel J. Mahoney’s latest offering The Statesman as Thinker: Portraits of Greatness, Courage, and Moderation, was named Conservative Book of the Year by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute.

We lost our Senior Fellow, the great Angelo M. Codevilla (1943-2021) much too soon. His impact on how conservatives think about foreign policy, statesmanship, and the relationship between citizens and the state was immense. Friends recently gathered in Washington, D.C. to discuss his amazing legacy.

Another video well worth your time is this discussion between Claremont Institute President Ryan P. Williams and Center for the American Way of Life Executive Director Arthur Milikh on dismantling the Left’s institutional power. (This is a private video and we ask that you not share it on social media.)

Ever wonder which progressive causes the federal government is using your tax dollars to fund? The Claremont Institute put together an interactive database that allows you to search federal subsidies to the Left. A few minutes on our Federal Progressive Subsidy Database should leave you astounded—and ready to fight back.

The Claremont Institute continues to grow in influence and drive the national conversation on the right. Even our “friends” at The New York Times admit we are a “nerve center of the American Right.” But we cannot accomplish this work without help from people like you.

Thank you,
Ryan P. Williams
