John, enough is enough. There is no reason why multibillionaires like Jeff Bezos should be paying a lower tax rate than people like our school teachers and firefighters. That's why I'm proud to have co-sponsored the Billionaire Minimum Income Tax Act. 

The Billionaire Minimum Income Tax Act will ensure that the wealthiest Americans pay a tax rate of at least 20% on their full income. Because, while the middle class continues to shrink, the richest 1% of Americans hold nearly two-thirds of all new wealth – and it's past time we changed that.

If you're wondering how this happened, the answer is simple, John: Billionaires have lobbied to build a system that directly benefits themselves. Now, according to a White House study, the wealthiest 400 billionaire families in the United States paid an average federal tax rate of just 8.2% – less than half of what teachers paid.

I have spent my entire career fighting for equality and an end to the economic disparities that plague our nation, but I need to know if you're in this fight with me.

I put together this flash poll to gauge how much of a following I have behind this issue, and I need at least 5,000 people to respond before midnight tonight.
