You probably heard that Kevin McCarthy and House Republicans wanted to pass devastating cuts to Social Security and Medicare in their budget.

President Biden and Democrats stopped them during debt ceiling negotiations, but make no mistake: This will not be the last time they will try to diminish programs that protect our nation’s seniors.

We may have won this fight, but the battle is long from over. Republicans will continue to try and snatch away these hard earned benefits from seniors— they’ve even launched a new group in the House to investigate cutting them!

I need you to sign my petition in the next 48 hours and join the fight for Social Security and Medicare. [[link removed]] [link removed] [[link removed]] As a doctor, I’ve seen many seniors struggle to find affordable and accessible health care, resulting in sickness or worse.

Too many seniors are struggling to make ends meet, yet instead of helping them, Republicans continue to stop at nothing to undercut these programs which Americans work and pay into all their lives.

Several Republicans protested the debt ceiling legislation because there were no cuts to Social Security or Medicare. Representative Chip Roy even said that no Republican should support the bill. Several members of Congress agreed with him.

The fact is these are life saving programs for America’s seniors. So the GOP should not be trying to cut down benefits that could save the lives of many of their constituents.
