I’m calling BS on the GOP’s anti-trans hysteria:

On the House Oversight Committee, I tore into an ex-Trump official after her attempt to bring bogus attacks on trans kids into a hearing on clean energy. Yes, clean energy.

What do trans kids have to do with a committee hearing on energy? Nothing. But whether it’s on the Oversight Committee, Budget Committee, or dozens of other subcommittees, Republicans continue to obsess over trans children in every single conversation – using them as a new political boogeyman to mobilize far-right extremists behind their hateful agenda.

This Pride Month, I’m going toe-to-toe with MAGA extremists hellbent on eradicating queer youth and the LGBTQ+ community. In the face of increasingly personal and violent attacks, we will not back down – but we need your support. I am the first woman and LGBTQ+ person serving Vermont in Congress, and one of only 11 openly-LGBTQ+ legislators in the House of Representatives. 

While I will continue to speak loudly and proudly against the bigoted rhetoric and lies being hurled at the LGBTQ+ community – during Pride Month, no less – I cannot do it alone.
