Dear Friend,

I’m Dave, the Director of Marketing & Fundraising at Dignity in Dying. I’ve been working on the campaign for over a decade, and it’s been a privilege to watch it grow into an unstoppable movement, made of passionate and committed people like you. Thanks so much for being here.

I know that many of us are thinking about money more often right now. The cost of living has impacted us all and at Dignity in Dying, we’re feeling the pinch too.

I have to be honest with you, Friend: without enough funding, we can’t carry on our vital campaign to change the law. And the stakes are high - right now, thousands of dying people up and down the country are enduring unnecessary suffering because of our broken system.

I know it’s hard to live with rising costs- but for so many terminally ill people, a good death is priceless. That’s why I’m asking you today:

Will you become a Dignity in Dying member today and help make sure that the cost of living crisis never gets in our way of winning an assisted dying law? Most people give £2.66 a month.

This is a crucial moment for our campaign. We have a once-in-a-decade opportunity to change the law in Scotland, Jersey, the Isle of Man and, ultimately, Westminster. We are making huge progress but we need to keep up the momentum to make sure we don’t lose this fight.

I’ve crunched the numbers. We need 100 new members to sustain our ambitious, targeted campaigns.

This year, we have big plans. Our recent event in Parliament, supported by Dame Prue Leith, was just the start of our dedicated and intensive work ahead of the next general election. We need funding now to make sure that when the time is right, we are in a position of victory.

Friend, will you be one of the 100 determined people standing up for compassion and choice? Even £2 a month Direct Debit will make such a difference to our campaign.

We simply can’t let the cost of living be the reason we lose the opportunity to secure law change for those who need it most.

Thanks for sticking with us through thick and thin. No matter what we face on the road ahead, I know that if we work together, we will change the law.
