Dear John,

Everyone acknowledges there is a lack of new housing in Canada’s cities.

But a new study published by the Fraser Institute today finds that despite this housing shortage, the number of housing units in 26% of Canada’s urban neighbourhoods actually declined from 2016 to 2021!

In addition to that, half of all neighbourhoods in Canadian cities saw the number of housing units increase... by less than 1%.

What growth we are seeing in new housing units is largely happening in very small pockets.

Find out more here [[link removed]], and be sure to share this study with anyone who you think might be interested!

Sincerely,

Niels Veldhuis
