Hi John,

A great way to kick off this pride month is by learning about the importance of gender affirming care for trans youth. Watch our webinar on “Gender Affirming Care for Young People” now! We believe that young people are rational decision-makers and should be able to make informed decisions about their gender expression without conservative propaganda and hateful lawmakers getting in their way.

Calling Out Big Tech

At Reproaction, we have been focused on calling out Big Tech companies like Twitter and Meta for suppressing abortion content, but the suppression of free speech does not end there. Big Tech companies have suppressed our content calling out violence against trans people and are not prioritizing the safety of LGBTQ+ people on their websites.

Self-Care

Self-care is an intentional practice that roots us in the present despite the oppression we may face. Regular self-care is essential for sustainable and effective activism.

Here are our self-care tips for June:

1.     Prepare treats! Something I like to do for myself before heading into each work week is to not only meal prep, but snack prep! I cut up vegetables and wash fruit, set up my cold brew, and make sure to have my favorite snacks stocked up for the week. It makes each day after just a little bit easier. – Jessica, Digital Outreach and Opposition Research Director

2.     Set some unplugged hours. If you're like me, you're maybe not-so-healthily attached to the internet. We use and need it for so many things, from to-do lists to health stats to restaurant menus, but setting an hour or two a day (especially before bed!) to get off screens and just be can become a practice you really look forward to. – Shireen, Deputy Director

3.     Pick up a new hobby! I recently started making sourdough bread from scratch and it's so fun learning something new. Try to challenge yourself this summer and pick up one new hobby/skill and make it your own - best of luck! – Nataley, Executive Assistant

See you next month!

In Solidarity,

Erin, Shireen, Elizabeth, Evonnia, Jacqueline, Jessica, Kieran, Laila, Nataley, Negar, Hunter and the Reproaction team
