Saving wildlife together, one animal at a time |

Hi John,
Thank you for standing with Born Free over the last month and being the change we all want to see. As you’ll read below, there is much positive news to report. Together, we’re making the world a kinder place, from the urgent rescue of two desperate cheetah cubs, to a legal victory which will protect more animals through the Ivory Act. And it’s all thanks to YOUR support! |
When our team in Ethiopia got the call that two baby cheetah cubs needed rescuing, they were able to leap into action – thanks to your donations which help us act quickly in emergencies like this. We’ll never replace their mum but, together, we can nurse them back to health and give them the loving care they deserve.
Our amazing supporters heard our Cheetah SOS and also leapt into action, with almost £4,000 in donations already given to help cover their medical expenses and dietary needs. You can still donate to support their lifetime care and ensure a brighter future for these young cubs. |
Our own queen of compassion, Co-Founder Virginia McKenna (who celebrated her 92nd birthday yesterday!), accepted her Damehood at Windsor Castle on behalf of YOU and everyone seeking to end cruelty to wild animals. |
You’ve been there for us every step of our campaign, and now – colossal news – the UK Government has made it illegal to sell ivory from hippos, walruses and narwhals, as well as elephants. |

TINY SOLUTION TO CONFLICT |
Thanks to your donations, ten ‘beehive fences’ have gone on trial in Kenya to help farmers protect their crops from foraging elephants – who are scared of bees! But do they work? |
It’s 12 months since our new project to protect rare gorillas got underway in Cameroon – with the help of YOUR gifts to our Apes on the Edge appeal – and you won’t believe the impact! |
Our August challenge is back - we're asking you to walk in solidarity for elephants or lions, whether it’s a 5-mile Ellie Amble or 20,000 steps for lions! There’s still time to get involved, but which team will you join? |
Last week we launched our new campaign to end the cruel use of captive wild animals as photo props, and thousands of you have already pledged NEVER to take a Selfish Selfie. |
We are in awe! Super fundraiser Mark Quince is currently conquering an epic 1,000-mile cycle, from Land’s End to John O’Groats, to raise funds for Born Free. Go Mark! |
After appearing at our 'Beyond Trophy Hunting' event last year, we're partnering with Ralph and his company Rebalance Earth to help companies offset their ecological footprint. |

Thank you once again for making all of this possible – every single donation, every petition signed, and every action taken is making a difference for the future of wildlife. Thank you!
