Hi there,

I hope you got my email about Giving Day last week. There’s only one week to go but we’ve opened the donation page early because the need in the community is huge right now.

I’d like to share Dawn’s story with you - it really does show why we need your support.

Dawn reached out for help recently. She has 3 children with another baby on the way. Having fled a violent relationship, Dawn and her children are now living in temporary crisis accommodation. Not only is Dawn finding it hard to get a place to rent, she’s also finding it really difficult to buy basic essentials for her children.

Dawn was feeling extremely stressed when her case worker contacted us.

She wasn’t asking for a lot. Most people aren’t when they turn to us… it’s all about the basics. Clothing, toiletries, nappies and a few toys to keep the kids happy, entertained and carefree.

In Dawn’s words “this charity truly understands that basic needs are the foundation to everything else''. Wouldn’t you agree?! If we have basic essentials, everything else feels so much less stressful. Dawn’s finding the juggle hard as a single mum. She has temporary shelter, some food and she’s taking good care of her children, but she’s not left with much time or money to provide everything else for them.
