As I often tell my daughter, " You can’t please everyone, and that’s okay."

I tell her that often because it took me many years to learn that lesson, and I know many women struggle with it, too.

I grew up smack-dab in the middle of eight siblings, so it’s no surprise that I’m a people-pleaser through and through!

Then, as an adult, I built a career working for better opportunities for students and families across the Las Vegas area. That work certainly had its tough moments, but it never brought the kind of backlash I experienced when I first ran for office seven years ago.

I’ll admit that suddenly facing harsh criticism from every direction wasn’t (and still isn’t) easy, but I’ve learned the hard way that I can’t please everyone — and I wasn’t elected to try.

I was elected to Congress to do the best work I can do for as many folks as possible. That’s what I’ve done since I won my first election back in 2018, and that's exactly what I’ll continue to do today, tomorrow, and every day after that.

It’s your support that makes it all possible, team. So, if you can, will you make a generous contribution of $15 (or more!) toward our critical End-of-Quarter goal so we can keep doing good work in 2024 and beyond?
