You can save lives as a HOPE Lifter

Dear Friend,
We’re looking for 50 compassionate supporters like you — people who want to deliver ongoing HOPE and health around the world — to become Project HOPE’s newest monthly donors.
This dedicated group of supporters — HOPE Lifters — show the utmost commitment to saving lives. In fact, monthly donors are such a critical part of the work we do that one of our supporters is offering a special
matching gift — an additional $100 will be added to your first monthly gift when you join us by the end of the month.
Knowing how crucial our monthly donors are to helping people in need, I decided to ask some of them what inspires them to give every month.
It immediately became clear: HOPE Lifters are committed to protecting babies, children and families the world over. Many echoed my same feeling that no matter where a person is born, everyone deserves hope.
This note from Martha, one of our HOPE Lifters, really stood out and reminded me why monthly giving is so important:

I’ve known about Project HOPE since it began in 1958. In fact, I’ve been giving since the 1970s, but I first became a monthly donor after Hurricane Matthew. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing on the
news… entire communities in Haiti without anywhere to go… it seemed there was no one to help them.
Then I noticed the work that Project HOPE was doing. They provided medical supplies, health care volunteers and helped build a new cholera treatment center. They looked like heroes, but really they were just normal people like me
who had decided to share their skills to save lives.
I realized that Project HOPE’s work goes far beyond those days and weeks after a disaster. They have teams around the world bringing real sustainable care to communities who would otherwise be without. They increase the
availability of essential equipment, train local health workers so they can use the latest treatments for respiratory diseases, diabetes and HIV, and improve access to early detection and education.
I became a HOPE Lifter right then, and I’ve never looked back. If there is another natural disaster tomorrow, I want to be sure that I’m doing my part to make the resources available for Project HOPE staff and
volunteers to deploy right away and stay as long as they’re needed.
