[1]NNU - Medicare for All!
There's no
denying it. The U.S. health care system is broken, dysfunctional, and
cruel.
According to The New York Times, hundreds of thousands of low-income
Americans have lost Medicaid coverage in recent weeks — many of who remain
qualified.^1
Beginning at the start of the pandemic, states were barred from kicking
people off Medicaid under a provision in a coronavirus relief package.
That policy expired in March, and since then 19 states have started to
remove people from their rolls.
For example, in Arkansas, 73,000 people lost coverage in April, including
about 27,000 children 17 years of age and under. A majority of those
people were dropped for procedural reasons. In total, the federal
government has projected that about 15 million people will lose coverage
in the coming months.
This is unacceptable and just one more clear reason we need guaranteed
health care. We deserve so much better than our broken, expensive system.
Medicare for All is the way forward.

Medicare for All would guarantee all U.S. residents comprehensive, high
quality health care — including medical, dental, hearing, vision, mental
health, reproductive, and long-term care. Medicare for All isn't just the
right thing to do; it's popular — 69% of people in the U.S. support it.
Senator Bernie Sanders and Congresswomen Pramila Jayapal and Debbie
Dingell reintroduced Medicare for All legislation in the U.S. House and
Senate on Wednesday, May 17, with critical support from lawmakers,
stakeholders, and people like you!
Over 69,900 grassroots supporters have signed our petition calling on
Congress to pass Medicare for All, but we're aiming for hundreds of
thousands of signatures to ensure that Congress takes action.
