Team,

This Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month, I’m reaching out to you once again, not only as a concerned advocate but as someone who understands the personal toll Alzheimer's takes on individuals and their loved ones.

I lost my mother after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer's and I saw firsthand the challenges of this terrible disease. But I am certainly not alone in experiencing this heartbreaking loss — 6.7 million Americans, including tens of thousands of Virginians, are currently living with Alzheimer’s. And by 2060, barring any major breakthroughs to prevent, slow down, or cure Alzheimer’s, that number is expected to more than double.

That’s why I’m proud to have worked with my colleagues to introduce a pair of bipartisan bills that will enhance our national plan to tackle the disease. Before I get into exactly why these pieces of legislation are so vital, would you consider donating today to support my work in Congress for Alzheimer’s research and prevention? [link removed]

I’ve introduced two bills to extend and modernize the National Alzheimer's Project, the federal program that implements our national Alzheimer’s research strategy. They will cement a long-term federal commitment to curing Alzheimer’s Disease and help the National Alzheimer’s Project explore new areas of research. Our bipartisan bills aim to expedite the national strategy to discover a remedy to support the countless American families affected by this illness.

Regardless of political affiliation, Alzheimer's Disease remains indifferent. Its toll on patients and the substantial financial investment in treatment all contribute to the nation's collective burden, which only grows as we delay finding a cure.

Pitch in $5 today to join me in the fight to end this terrible disease >> [link removed]
