You know that kid’s book, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie? Well, friend, we present to you Washington’s sequel: If You Give an Extremist an Inch.

To get you up to speed, McCarthy couldn’t whip the votes of the Freedom Caucus (a.k.a. the most extreme of Washington’s MAGA extremists) back in January, so he lost the Speaker vote 14 times and held up all action in Congress for days.

As a last ditch attempt to get the lingering lunatics on his side, he agreed to a House rule that would allow a single member to call for a vote on removing the House leader. The no-confidence vote would only need a simple majority to oust him.

That’s why following the debt ceiling vote, members of the Freedom Caucus have flip flopped on their threat to hold a vote and give McCarthy the boot for good. And because the MAGA-right can’t get their act together, they’re holding up House business again. Come on.

We might as well call this crew for what it really is: the Failure Caucus.

While the MAGA mob continues to flail, Democrats are standing together to protect our democracy from the MAGA mob. Help us bring order back to Washington and get these petulant children out of office in 2024 so we can get back to what’s really important: delivering for the American people.
