ICYMI - here's the background on this scam: Just when we thought Governor Lombardo’s flagrant disregard for the priorities of the people he’s supposed to serve couldn’t get any worse … he’s now called ANOTHER Special Session TODAY around the #StadiumScam. Yep, the $380 million of taxpayer dollars to line the pockets of the Oakland A’s billionaire owners is now BACK in play. The Special Session will start TODAY at 10 a.m. and there’s no telling just how long we’ll have to thwart this dangerous and ill-conceived proposal. That’s why we need YOU to step up to the plate (pardon the baseball pun) and tell the legislators who will be making this $380 million dollar decision to NOT WASTE OUR PUBLIC DOLLARS FOR PRIVATE PROFITS. The Governor’s decision to prioritize funding for yet another stadium scam over other pressing needs of the community, such as mental health, healthcare, and infrastructure, shows how little Governor Lombardo knows about his job and his duty to serve the people of our state. Let’s let our legislators know that we WILL hold their feet to the fire if they decide to follow in his footsteps! We are sick and tired of the demands of working families trying to live a life of dignity being seen by Carson City lawmakers as too risky, while yet another half-baked tax giveaway to a billionaire’s pet project is met with extreme effort and urgency.
