John,
I've just spent the morning speaking to the press,
with Naomi, about Best forBritain's groundbreaking
new MRP poll - the first of its kind to reveal how the next
election will pan out under the new constituency
boundaries.
And I've got a lot to share with
you.
On the one hand...
Labour is
currently set for a 140+ seat majority and comfortably ahead in the
polls, with a 12pt lead over the Conservatives.
But on the other hand...
Our analysis shows
a significantly high number of marginal seats where another party is
within 5% of the projected winner. With 1 in 8 (13%) respondents still
undecided, these voters could shift the balance of power.
While
Labour's position is strong, the current landscape is far from set in
stone. Should undecided voters cast their ballot in line with previous
trends, and if Reform UK stands down its candidates as UKIP and Brexit
Party did in previous elections, we could potentially see a hung
parliament with Labour's seat count falling to 316, five seats
short of a functional majority.
This is where you come in, John.
We
cannot underestimate the power of each and every vote in these
circumstances.
That's why, when the starting pistol on the
next general election is fired, Best for Britain will unleash the most
powerful tactical voting operation the UK has ever seen. We'll provide
up-to-date MRP polling information to help voters cast their votes in
a way that delivers a change in government. Additionally, we will
continue our efforts in pressuring the Labour Party into backing
electoral reform to make it easier to change governments in the
future.
But we cannot do this without
you.
We've already started the work needed to get rid
of this disastrous government for good because, if we're ever going to
see the back of the cynical politics they stand for, we need to not
only beat them in seats across the country but fix the broken voting
system that allows them to get into power with a minority of the
country's votes.
But it’s worth remembering that tactical voting is only
necessary because of our outdated First-Past-The-Post Voting system.
So what are we doing about that?
Our 'Can't
Wait' campaign to pressure the Labour Party into unequivocally
backing electoral reform has made strides; at conference last year
members overwhelmingly voted to make proportional representation
official party policy, and thousands of our supporters have written to
prospective candidates for the next election to make their positions
clear.
At the same, we've been reaching out to thousands of voters in the
marginal seats that will decide the next election to remind them of
all the havoc this government has brought on our country.
If
you are up for the challenge, then pledge
to vote tactically at the next election.
Thank you for your
continued support. We cannot do this without you
Best
wishes,
Carol
