Happy Pride Month, team!

Together, we are working toward creating a society where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and equality — no matter their identity or who they love. And in the spirit of this Pride Month, it's crucial we recommit ourselves to defending the rights of all LGBTQ+ Americans.

Since a Republican-led state legislature in Florida passed a discriminatory "Don't Say Gay'' bill last year, many new copy-cat bills have followed, including state legislatures introducing a record 540+ anti-LGBTQ+ bills — with over 220 bills specifically targeting transgender and non-binary people. Already, 45 anti-LGBTQ+ laws have been enacted so far this year.

I want to make one thing perfectly clear, team: I stand firmly against these hateful and terrible laws and actions, and I know that you share my conviction. These attempts to silence and marginalize the LGBTQ+ community are not isolated incidents; they are attacks on the progress we have fought so hard to achieve.

We need to call attention to these ongoing attacks on the LGBTQ+ community. We can't allow bigotry and discrimination to tarnish the principles of equality and justice that our nation was built upon.

This Pride Month, I am honored to continue fighting alongside the LGBTQ+ community and allies, not only in June — but every single day. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that the rights and safety of ALL Americans are protected, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
