It's Summertime in Wisconsin! JFC Contact Information Speak up for funding increase for public transportation in Wisconsin! Legislative Alert - Take Action Today! TOMORROW the state's budget committee (Joint Finance Committee or JFC) is taking up the Department of Transportation budget. This is a critical opportunity to let members of the committee know that Wisconsinites would like to see a funding increase for public transit. Please email (and if you have time, call!) members of JFC today and ask for them to increase transit funding in the upcoming state budget! Follow link to jFC contact info. Sample script: (courtesy of Sierra Club) Dear member of the Joint Finance Committee - I am writing asking for you to increase public transit funding in the 2023-2025 state budget. I care about public transit because INSERT PERSONAL REASON. Public transit systems provide essential links to job opportunities, healthcare and recreation. As Wisconsin's population ages, more transit options will better serve both seniors and young professionals who are looking for multi-modal options. Please increase the funding for public transit in this budget. 1kFriends June Webinar Want to learn more about community science and local sustainability? Join us for our June webinar!
