Hi Friend,

Welp, the day has come. Due to obstruction from the Republicans in the
legislature and clear incompetence and dereliction of duty from Governor
Lombardo, we’re staring down the start of a special legislative session
TONIGHT, [ [link removed] ]according to our friend Steve Sebelius. I'll be there with
bells on.

In case you were (hopefully) sleeping during last night’s final hours of
the 82nd Legislative Session, Republicans in the Senate led by Heidi
Seevers-Gansert made a (literal) eleventh-hour demand of AB521, the
Capital Improvements Budget, for charter school and voucher funding. With
less than an hour to go in the regular session, Republicans refused to
vote to support the bill, forcing the legislature to enter a special
session, delaying necessary funding for crucial state programs, and
wasting taxpayer dollars in the process.

AB521 was part of a package of budget bills making historic investments in
Nevada. AB521 would have provided an estimated $120.8 million in veterans'
homes and memorial improvements, $11.7 million for public safety
improvements, and $60.3 million for healthcare and child welfare — among
other critical improvements across the state.

Stay tuned to our [ [link removed] ]Twitter and [ [link removed] ]Facebook for more crucial updates as
the special begins and I will be there every step of the way in the
building to hold #JoeyVeto and his wasteful Republican colleagues
accountable. We will also host another #OutInFront this week!

In solidarity,

PS - [ [link removed] ]Tweet at Governor Lombardo and tell him to stop playing politics
with budget bills that impact Nevadans' lives!
