As a longtime proponent of preserving our public lands, I wanted to share with you that we are reupping the fight to make Roadless Rule protections permanent, an issue I have been championing for over two decades.
The roadless rule is so important because it shields almost 60 million acres of America's last remaining wild forest lands from roadbuilding and logging. Those amazing untouched areas of our National Forests, owned by all Americans, that still don't have any roads punched through them yet.
Add your name today if you agree that these regulations are key in the fight to protect our environment from corporate development. [link removed]
America's largest roadless area is within the majestic Tongass National Forest in southeast Alaska. With your help, we were able to overturn the Trump Administration's effort to log in over 9 million acres of the Tongass, including old-growth stands. Now we need to permanently protect the Tongass and all Roadless Areas all across America so some future Administration can't come along and develop these irreplaceable pristine lands.
It’s on us to protect our environment and while I’m proud of these wins, there’s so much more left to do.
