I'm not a career politician. I never in a zillion years thought I'd run for office.

I planned to spend my whole career teaching and researching.

But when I saw how the middle class is being hollowed out, and how working people are getting the short end of the stick, I knew I had to get into this fight.

And in the past year out on the campaign trail, I've seen how the most urgent issues we face as a country are the same issues I've spent decades working on: how we build a country that works for everyone, not just the rich and powerful.

So I'm fighting from the heart as something I never thought I'd be: as a candidate for president of the United States.

I truly believe that we can build a better America together. It's going to take all of us, but we can get this done. If you're in this fight all the way, and if you can make a donation before tonight's big New Hampshire primary, please chip in whatever makes sense for you.

Together, we're fighting to make a huge difference in the lives of tens of millions of people -- by expanding Social Security by $200 a month, guaranteeing Universal Child Care, making sure every kid can go to a great public school, and so much more.

So every time I'm out talking with people about our plans for big, structural change, I'm thinking about how much I want to do a good job for you.

And I want to do a good job for all of the people who are getting crushed by costs that are getting heavier and heavier -- health care, housing, you name it. For all of the people who are stretching to make ends meet on Social Security. For all of the people Washington doesn't listen to -- all the people whose voices are drowned out by lobbyists and ignored by career politicians.

We can end Washington corruption, rebuild the middle class, and strengthen our democracy if we just come together, get out there, and fight for it.
