We need a functional FEC

Sign today to tell Senate leadership to confirm FEC commissioners who will enforce the law!

“The Federal Election Commission has been shut down for far too long. Election season is about to be in full swing, and our nation’s election watchdog is nowhere to be found. New commissioners must be nominated swiftly, and Senate leadership must only confirm those who are dedicated to enforcing the law. We need a working FEC now.”

John,

The Federal Election Commission (FEC) has entered its sixth month of being essentially shut down and unable to do its job due to a lack of commissioners.

To make matters worse, all three of the remaining commissioners are serving years past their terms.

That’s why a bipartisan group of former members of Congress — all members of Issue One’s ReFormers Caucus — sent a letter to Senate leadership urging them to fix the FEC by only confirming nominees to the agency who would faithfully execute the nation’s campaign finance laws.

Join them in their call for leaders in the Senate to establish an effective election watchdog.

In their letter, the former members wrote:

The American people deserve an FEC that is fully functioning and faithfully enforcing current laws… Confirming new commissioners who are opposed to enforcing the law would only extend the current dysfunction and dismantle the power of Congress.

Our nation is well into election season without its election watchdog. This is unacceptable.

Sign your name today and tell Senate leadership to help get the FEC back on track!
