Thanks this community's support, we reached our ambitious launch goal for my Defeat Fascism Fund!

One of the most disturbing realities of the rise of fascism inside the Republican Party is their growing demonization of our LGBTQ+ friends and neighbors, and we can't afford to tolerate hatred.

June is Pride Month – a time for us to celebrate the accomplishments and progress of the LGBTQ+ community – and no amount of bullying or hate speech will stop us.

After all, we're New Yorkers, and we don't take bigotry or injustice without a fight. We're the home of those brave heroes at the Stonewall Inn who stood up for their dignity and helped spark a movement for equality.

I'm extremely proud of my small role in building a national monument to honor their impact and even prouder of my work in passing my bill to protect same-sex marriage, The Respect for Marriage Act, into law!

So, this Pride Month, as you celebrate, don't lose sight of the work we need to do together to fight the hatred and discrimination that continues to stop us from accepting the humanity of all of our neighbors.
