My friend, Yesterday, June 5th, marked the 19th anniversary of President Ronald Reagan's passing in 2004. Considered by many to be one of our greatest presidents, President Reagan united our country and brought prosperity and economic growth that has been enjoyed by millions of Americans. One of our favorite Reagan quotes perfectly exemplifies the type of man and leader he was: "Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, leave the rest to God." Despite his unifying legacy, some Minnesota Democrats decided to use the day to mock President Reagan's legacy. Minneapolis DFL Chair Briana Rose Lee tweeted the following in reference to President Reagan's passing: |
Minnesota State Senator Jen McEwen joined in defending Lee's comments and made her own disparaging remarks: |
In addition to these statements Donavon Indovino Cawley, a Democrat Party official in Ilhan Omar and Dean Phillips' districts, tweeted a sexually explicit insult of former First Lady Nancy Reagan. This is the type of political rhetoric that Americans are tired of. There's a difference between disagreeing with somebody's politics and disrespecting the legacy of leaders who served our country. Add your name to our petition and join us in condemning these Minnesota Democrats' statements: |
