Critical Dam Destroyed

A critical dam along the front line in southern Ukraine was destroyed on Tuesday, sending cascades of water pouring through the breach and putting thousands of people downstream at risk. Ukraine and Russia each accused the other of blowing up the dam, which held back a body of water the size of the Great Salt Lake, as the NYT reports.

The global economy is likely slowing sharply this year, hobbled by high interest rates, the repercussions of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the lingering effects of the coronavirus pandemic, as the AP reports.

Executive Education

Renewing the U.S. Innovation System is a one-day executive course for insights on ongoing efforts to renew the U.S. innovation system, including the CHIPS and Science Act and its implications for business and policy decisions. This course will provide industry leaders, diplomats, and policymakers with an understanding of the pillars of the U.S. innovation ecosystem. The registration deadline has been extended to Friday, June 9.
