Hi there, it’s Alex.

I’m reaching out today not to ask you to make a contribution to my campaign, but to Sacramento ACT (Area Congregations Together) — a community organization that’s working to support the migrants that recently arrived in Sacramento.

Can you make a contribution to Sacramento ACT today? 100% of your donation will go to their work supporting recently arrived migrants.

Over the weekend and then again yesterday, a group of migrants from Venezuela and Colombia arrived in Sacramento via chartered plane. It’s unclear right now who organized the trips, but that does not change the fact that these people need our support, and deserve to feel safe and welcome.

Sacramento ACT is working with their congregations, partners, local and state government, and other agencies to determine what comes next and organize support, including legal support if needed.

These are real people, and they deserve better than being used as political pawns to create chaos. So as Sacramento and California welcome these migrants with open arms and treat them with respect and dignity, I hope you’ll join me in giving to this community organization that’s playing a key role in supporting these recently arrived migrants.

Please make a contribution to Sacramento ACT today and help ensure that these people have the support and resources they need.

Thank you for giving if you can afford to do so. I’m proud that Californians are coming together to support these people in their time of need.
