John, I wanted to make sure you got Hala's note from over the weekend.
Glenn Youngkin's potential presidential aspirations mean that the Virginia GOP will be laser-focused on defeating candidates like Hala in open State Senate races — and with our next public finance deadline just over 48 hours away, we need to demonstrate that we're in a position to counter the attacks that are coming our way.
John, wouldn't you know it: it seems that Glenn Youngkin might be reconsidering a presidential campaign after all!
I don't know whether Youngkin's getting bored of governing our Commonwealth, or whether he's sensing a new opportunity as candidates like Ron DeSantis flounder.
But I do know that if Youngkin's serious about running for President, he's going to double down on his anti-choice, anti-LGBTQ, and anti-education proposals in our state to endear himself to the national GOP electorate. And I know he'll do everything in his power to win key legislative races this year.
We have a chance in November to really embarrass Youngkin and deny him a legislative trifecta, but it's going to be a long, close, seat-by-seat fight.
