John, last week,
we celebrated the future of space in Western Pennsylvania!

FIRST: Former astronaut and NASA Deputy Administrator, Pam Melroy, came to
Pittsburgh! Together, we toured a robotics classroom at Environmental
Charter Middle School and chatted with students about opportunities in
STEM.

THEN: I joined Mayor Gainey and industry leaders to announce that
Pittsburgh's North Side is set to become a Space Innovation District with
education, training, and jobs for ALL folks.

NOW: I'm continuing my work as a member of the Science, Space, and
Technology Committee to deliver funding for tech investments in our
community and break down barriers for Black, brown, and marginalized folks
in STEM fields.

This work is critical to the future of Western Pennsylvania.

Increasing diversity in STEM fields and politics is at the core of this
mission, and we know from experience that change only comes with
intentional effort. Next year is scheduled to be the first time a Black
astronaut and woman will orbit the moon. And if I hadn't run for Congress,
it's likely Pennsylvania still would not have a Black Congresswoman.

Oftentimes kids think that they're there to learn from adults, but I'm in
this work because of what they teach me. Their curiosity and excitement
motivate me to ensure I'm doing everything I can in Congress to train the
next generation of scientists, astronauts, and STEM students.

Together, we can invest in innovation to secure clean air and water in
Western Pennsylvania and open up STEM opportunities. [ [link removed] ]Please, if you're
