One of the things I think about (and one of the reasons I went on The View Monday morning because of the comments they made last week) is that the only way for a young African American kid to be successful in this country is to be the exception, and not the rule.
That is a dangerous, offensive, disgusting, message to send to our young people today that the only way to succeed is by being the exception.
We've had an African American President and an African American Vice President. We've had two African Americans to be Secretaries of the State. In my home city, the police chief who's now running for mayor is African American and the head of the Highway Patrol for South Carolina is African American.
I’m sick and tired of the way the radical Left is trying to convince people that America is the land of oppression because it is NOT! America is the land of opportunity, John. I’m ready to go on offense for this.
