John, I was just looking through some old photos and found one I wanted to share:

An old photo of Katie, her twin sister Becky, and her parents smiling. Katie and Becky are wearing black graduation caps and gowns. That’s me on the right!

That’s me and my twin sister Becky, celebrating with our parents after graduating college!

I know for many folks, this is always a big day, but for my family, it was a really special moment. You see, growing up my family went through periods of financial uncertainty.

There were times we had to lean on our community church for help, and relied on support like food stamps to help make ends meet.

Putting myself through college at Northern Arizona University came with its challenges, and I used scholarships and work-study during my grad school years at Arizona State.

I’m proud to be a first-generation college graduate, and can confidently say that pursuing higher education opened the door to so many incredible opportunities.

That’s why as governor, I’m working to ensure every Arizonan is able to access affordable, quality education.

Can you pitch in today to support me as I fight to deliver solutions to Arizona’s teacher retention crisis and work to make education accessible and affordable for every Arizonan? Any amount helps.

Thanks for taking the time to reflect with me and pitch in. I really appreciate your support.
